"中华源·河南故事"中外文系列丛书是对外传播中华文化、提升河南形象的重要载体,《大运河》是该丛书系列中的一个分卷。为提升翻译质量,译者从翻译的跨文化传播学视角出发,梳理了中外相关研究成果,以期为本书的翻译提供理论指导。译者认为,为了达到跨文化传播的目的,译文应以目的语受众为依归,对原文进行跨文化重构,并灵活采用直译、意译、增译、删减、改译等翻译方法以提升翻译效果。
Abstract：The Origin of China · Henan Story is a series of books in both Chinese and English, with a purpose to spread Chinese culture and better the image of Henan Province. The Grand Canal is one volume of them. The translators of The Grand Canal believe that readers should be taken into account when translating the text, and sometimes the original text should be reconstructed in a cross-cultural way. Guided by the theory of cross-cultural communication, the translators adopted a variety of translation methods, such as literal translation, liberal translation, addition, omission, rewriting, so as to achieve the goal of cross-cultural communication in the translation of The Grand Canal.
